We are a social club for New Zealanders living in the New York City area. The club has been around since the 1980's and became an incorporated non-profit in 1994. We are financially independent from, but operate on good terms with, the New Zealand Consulate General in New York. We are also separate from, but friendly with, KEA (Kiwi Expats Association), a business networking group. We are run by a board of unpaid volunteers, who are all young Kiwi professionals living in or near NYC.
We welcome to our club anyone who is a New Zealander or just likes meeting New Zealanders. We hold free open monthly drinks nights, a Kiwi-style summer barbecue, an annual Christmas party, and various other events. Our members range from single professionals to young families to long established expats. We have a financial membership option of $25 a year (individual) $35 (household) which gives you discounts to all our ticketed events and occasionally special offers (e.g. cheap legs of fresh NZ lamb!). Come along to our events and find out how many Kiwis there are in New York whom you already know from home! And see our website, http://www.kiwiclubny.org/.
About the Kiwi Club:
The Kiwi Club has been around for years: we became incorporated as a non-profit in 1994, and the club was going well before that (the summer barbecue has been happening every year since the 1970s, we're told!). We're always open to new members. We aim to be welcoming to everyone: Kiwis, friends of Kiwis, people who like meeting Kiwis, whoever...! Our focus is essentially social. Read more
